1981 – In autumn a group of students from Pisa University, who studied diverse disciplines and were from different regions in Italy, dreamt to share with the world their passion of Italian language and culture.
1982 - At last on the 18th July the dream came true and this association was founded in Livorno.
1986 - The turning point: the first time it was decided not to direct our activity exclusively to foreigners who were residents of Tuscany or tourists but to introduce our organization to the world.
1988 - The opening of the second school in the capital of European culture - Florence.
1989 - Due to international experience and contacts with advanced Universities we became aware of a new and important medium of information. In the same year we organized the first site devoted to the learning of Italian language and culture.
1990 – Opening of the third school in the prestigious and tourist Elbe Island where it’s possible to join holidays thanks to one of the most beautiful sea of the Mediterranean with the Italian study.
1992 - Appearence of our first didactic materials which were developed with original instruments and suited to the demands of foreigners who wanted to study Italian as second language.
1994 - We became a part of a large international organization, but some years later we withdrew because of the divergence in the usage of more appropriate methodology and technology.
1995 - A new year and a new school, in the famous city of the Leaning Tower, where 15 years earlier we were envisaging our project. The fourth school was in Pisa. |

1996 - The most ambitious project of our innovative story was started: • to study language in an amusing way; • to provide economic and flexible courses; • with a personalized program for every student; • close contact with teachers; • to combine study with plenty of activities during free time and everyday life; • with an opportunity to keep in contact with students even after the end of the courses. |

1996 – The first school abroad was founded in Germany in Bobblingen Stuttgart thanks to the collaboration with Andreas Gruender.
1997 - The Computer Academy is founded. This trademark created a formative structure in the field of computer science ahead of its time and in a few years it has received much important recognition:
• the first training and test center which can issue the European Licence for computer operations (ECDL). The program is supported by the European Union from February 2000.
• the first training and test center recognized by Microsoft to issue the MOUS (Microsoft Office User Specialist) from May 2001.
1998 - The fifth school was founded in Pratello, in a Baronial Villa, in the countryside near Volterra – the heart of Tuscany. At this villa apart from studying students can live and enjoy the magnificent secular park with a swimming pool, tennis court, bicycles, helicopter, riding hall, golf and private takeoff strip.
1999 - The first school out of Europe definitely couldn't be anywhere other then Japan. This country is culturally far from Europe, but is in love with Italy and especially with Tuscany.
2000 - In our cluster of schools we were missing one which concentrated on art: painting, sculpture, glass- and gold working; we were lucky to acquire this in a fantastic medieval castle in the countryside, situated near Saturnia, the thermal zone, which was famous in the Ancient Roman times: Sorano in Maremma.
2001 - The famous project of 1996 is completed. It took 5 years and was developed with the help of eight qualified teachers, four software engineers, one webmaster and one expert in communication and marketing. We have accomplished two programs which were made to revolutionize the learning of Italian for foreigners: Lingua alla Carta e Passaparola.
2001 - C.E.L.I. was born (The Consortium of European Languages and Informatics) for the creation of a large formational centre in the realm of foreign languages and informatics, directed to both the public and industries. Established by:
• Alliance Française (25%), non-profit association, present in 135 counties across the world with links to 1000 associations. It is attended by approximately 400.000 students;
• E.N.F.A.P. (18,5%), the national organization of information and professional development of the U.I.L production;
• Italiamo (56,5%).
2001 - The opening of the first school out of Tuscany, in Rome.
2001 - The first opening of a school in a country of the former Republic of the Soviet Union. The school is situated in a prestigious city which hosts one of the most ancient Universities of Eastern Europe: Kiev.
2002 - In February we signed the most important contract in our history, confirming a partnership with the Siena University for foreign students. We have received authorization to administer C.I.L.S. exams.
2002 - Opening of the first school devoted exclusively to the teaching of computers in Viareggio.
2002 - Due to the collaboration with European Universities, the Lingua alla Carta program has started to spread.
2002 - The beginning of a new program based on the huge potential of the Internet, which was created for distance learning through an innovative program which is supported on database on the platform Linux: www.arcibaldo.it.
2002 - Our organization has taken action to provide a Quality System in accord with the Norm: UNI EN ISO of series 9000 ed. 2000.
2002 - A second launch in the former Republic of the Soviet Union with a school at the prestigious Odessa University.
2002 - The opening of another school in Veneto - Venezia and Treviso.
2003 - The realization of the protocol with the Ministry of Public Education , Tirana University, Siena University for foreign students and Italiamo, which dealt with the foundation of the new committee Italiamo in May 2003 at the Language Faculty of the Tirana University and also the opening within these 3 years two new committee in Scutari and Valona. Carrying out of the C.I.L.S exams.
2003 - The opening of the new school in Poland: Krakow.
2003 - We received the assignation for the programm "In.Ter.Ex." through Bando Multimisura Ob. 3. Also this project was financed by the Social European Fund in the Toscana region. The aim - alphabetization in linguistics and informatics of some groups of the foreigners, residents of the territory.
2003 - The protocol of agreement to open a new school in Sicilia, Palermo.
2003 - The protocol of agreement to open new schools in Mexico: in Puebla and Mexico City. |
